  1. I assume by the style and year of release that "Leggo Beast" and "Reason Time" are the same session as well. Clearly, "Crashie Sweeps" is a revoicing of "Jerusalem," and "Satta-Me-No-Born-Ya" is a revoice of "Satta." This is still the only place to get the original vocal of "Satta" on cd. + Tax. Abyssinians USA Come Along (L Manning) *.
  2. Leggo Beast (Wicked Men): is the original Clinch single. Mabrak: is the Clinch release; spoken-word to the "Satta" riddim. Satta Me No Born Ya: is a Clinch single with new lyrics to the "Satta" riddim. Satta Dub: From the "Satta Dub" album co-released with this album. No idea who mixed it/5(14).
  3. This is one of those legendary reggae albums that's easier to admire than enjoy. There's no doubt of its importance: if you had to pick the five most influential Rasta anthems of the s (and Jah knows there have been few if any since then), the title track of this album would be one of them.
  4. Drawn from various singles issued on the Clinch label between ''76, this disc showcases the Abyssinians at their soulful, rootsy and conscious best. Although this compilation contains only ten songs, most are hard to find even on the various compilations that have surfaced over the years on both vinyl and CD.5/5(1).

  6. Roots reggae harmony heroes The Abyssinians formed in the late '60s, but despite releasing a number of singles, they didn't unleash their debut album until Satta Massagana's title track is a moody, minor-key masterpiece of Rastafarian prophecy. But the rest of the record is equally weighty; whether we're talking about the angst-filled.
